What a show! I had seen Jesus Christ in Liverpool late last year and just had to see it again. I was looking forward to seeing Craig Price (the new Christ) in Wolverhampton yet when I arrived an understudy (Stuart Boother) was doing the role. Before the performance I was disappointed... 10 minutes in I was mesmerised. Stuarts performance was entrancing. With a beautiful, powerful voice and an air that commanded attention everything he did was believable. Gethsemane was out of this world, Stuarts portrayal of a confused, angry Christ was outstanding. I still intend to see Craig Price perform because if Stuart is the understudy, Craig must be very, very good!
